Leo Sandoval

Leo Sandoval is a Mexican-American guitarist, vocalist and composer from Houston known for his versatile abilities as both a sideman and bandleader. He is currently finishing up his Bachelors in Performance at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Leo performs regularly across the DMV and Houston, as a sideman and as a leader of his trio, or co-leader of his quartet LUNO with saxophonist Lucas Netto. 

From an early age he has had no musical biases, drawing influence from Jazz, Rock, R&B, Folk, Salsa and Brazilian music, among others. Leo has had the opportunity to tour Europe in 2023 with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, as well as Virginia and DC through the Herbie Hancock Institute’s Peer-to-Peer Program. He has had the honor to perform alongside world-class musicians such as Sean Jones, Helen Sung, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marcus Miller, Fran Vielma, Javier Nero, Vincent Gardner and David Caceres. Venues he has been privileged to perform at include Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Dizzy’s Jazz Club NYC, Monks Jazz Club in Austin, Keystone Korner and An Die Musik in Baltimore.

He has recently found a passion for teaching and wants to spread his love and knowledge of music in any way possible.
